Saturday's are fundays

Wide awake at 4:30am. That is Soooo not me. Got up and cleaned kitchen, did chores (had a new calve yesterday) and got ready to go take the Matiowetz clan pictures. They are surprising their mom and dad for Christmas with prints. Stopped by Ryan's on my way home and got to hang with Addisyn for a while. They are going to Hoffman for the Sanstead Thanksgiving. Cory and Stacy went to the Schmiesing Thanksgiving, and Adam headed back to St. Cloud.

We just had another calf, like a half hour ago, so at 9:00pm, it's back to the barn to milk and feed a baby.

I am going to bed early. Good night........

PS.....yesterday got to do Christy and Ed's family. Their girls are adorable and sweet, so much fun!

Today I spent the day

sitting on the computer. Catching up on pictures I promised everyone I would do. Got Rob and Bex xmas card done, got Kayla and Kris' pictures edited and made them each a few cards to chose from.

It was a beautiful sunny 77 today, but the wind was horrible, couldn't work outside on anything. Sounds like more of the same for tomorrow.

Dave chiseled up by Hanson's today.

I have a new addiction........facebook. I have a feeling I never should have started that. A big time waster, but it is fun to hear from people you haven't in a while.

Past my bedtime.

I'm getting too old for

Hangovers.............Halloween party lots of fun, hangover, not so much. Got up, did chores, made breakfast, found the couch, slept 3 hours, got up, found the recliner, slept for 1 more hour. Cory was hungry and volunteered to grill steak, yummy........sat on the computer a few hours, watched tv, time for bed.

Sat. had Jack, Carter and Addisyn. Love watching them all play together. Cory took them uptown a few times to take back anhydrous tanks. More later.......

Here are a few pictures of the kiddos playing in the grove......

Guess I have to start being a better blogger after Cory told me he checks it everyday. Sorry Cory, I will work harder. Maybe if you left a little love in the comments I would know your checking and be better about it. Was fun meeting Heather and Shane. They are so nice!

No pictures again today

Still feeling under the weather. If not better, tomorrow a trip to the doctor. Rob here at 8:00 this morning. He and Dave went around and opened corn fields till 12:30. After a quick dinner of hot ham and cheese sandwiches and warm cookies, Rob went out and chopped the stocks of every place they had combined. We ran out of work for him to do, so we left about 3:30.

Chores were ok. Have a heifer that seems extra weak, Dave treated her with calcium and we left her in the barn tonite.

I didn't do much today, trying to get healthy.

Hopefully tomorrow is better.

Where did those

13 day go? I can't believe it is Oct. 14th already and my last post was Oct. 1rst. So much for keeping a daily record of life on the farm. I will start with today and work backwards for as long as my brain can remember (oh boy, I'm in trouble).

Today Rob and Carter pulled up about 8:30. Rob was here to help Dave unload the dryer bin and haul the corn to town. It is always so nice to have the boys here helping when they can! Makes it so much easier for Dave. Mr. Carter had preschool today so I got to bring him in. He did manage some tractor time with Daddy before school. I picked up the upstairs and let Carter get all his tractors and play farm in Adam's room. He thought that was great fun. After the corn was hauled to town we figured the 40 acres by Strand went 150 bu. per acre and it cost about .25 to dry it per bu. Not too bad for the lack of rain we had this summer.

I was under the weather today. Have a nasty ear infection. Didn't sleep much last night. Started antibiotics, hopefully will be my old self soon.

Sunday: Rain in the morning. Adam and Michelle, Cory and Stacy, and Dave watched a movie. I was in a baking mood, made 3 different batches of cookies. Made chicken Fijittas for dinner. They all left early afternoon. I crawled into bed and read a book till I feel asleep. A nap on a Sunday afternoon.......it's a good thing!

Sat: We carved pumpkins. Adam and Michelle got the whole group carving. Was fun. Carter and Addisyn each took a pumkin home. I have 2 in the front. Will take pictures tomorrow. I got my christmas card picture with the 4 little kids together. I promise, will post that too, later.

Friday: I worked in the field all day. Helped Dave haul loads and unload into the drying bin. I do love that job, but I tell ya, by 5:30 when the boys showed up, I was shot!!! Got 40 acres of corn picked.

Thursday: I got Mr. Carter in the morning. Rob worked and Bex had to run in to work, so I got to take him to school. We played about 10 games of perfection, then we had lots of fun playing with play doh. Dinner and off to school. From Wabasso I went right to Marshall. Did a little (very little) bit of shopping, then took Kailin and Betsy's grad. pictures. Got home at 7:30. Ry, Robyn and the kids were here when I got home, so got to play with Addisyn and Griffer for a while. Bed felt good.

Ok, that is all my brain can remember. Time for bed.

A very productive day

Got lots accomplished today. Have been trying to get my house in order. Today I worked on the kitchen, cleaned the garage, baked an apple cream pie, plus cooked breakfast, dinner (chicken nouguts), supper (swiss steak). Today is day 2 of the Southbeach diet. The first two weeks are a lot like Atkins, so is pretty easy for me. I just wish the two weeks were over so I can eat an apple. Ryan and Robyn have the BEST apple tree at their place. Love the apples so much, I have a half a pail left. Will probably bake some more pies tomorrow.

The cop stopped. Had some pie and picked up his CDS.

Dave chiesel plowed till chores time....

Don't really know much else. Going to bed early tonite.

A chance of frost tonite. I hope not, I love those Toe-MO-Natos

I should be in bed

but, as usual, I got my second wind. I will do a quick catch up then off to bed.

The guys finished combining beans Sunday afternoon. Cory hauled 2 loads that wouldn't fit in the bins to the elevator. Becky and the boys came over and we went to the apple orchard, got some great pictures and the boys had fun. Carter loves the boats, Jack loved the apple crisp and ice cream. C

Cory left to go to Stacy's about 5:00, Rob, Bex and the kids left about 6:00, chores, carmel apple for supper (yummy)and then the cloads rolled in. It started to thunder and lighting and then rain. We got a half an inch. Was nice to have the beans done and the combine in the shed. Good thing those boys have so much ambition and push late into the evening.

Here are some pictures of the apple orchard. Funny story. On the way over, Carter got a little bit of the devil in him, reached over and pulled Jack's hair. Well, as you can see in the picture, Jack didn't forget. What goes around comes around Carter
